I set up my X12 to connect via Wi-Fi but now want to use Powerline adapters but cannot see how to set it up for a wired connection. I have the Powerline adapters in place and connected one to the X12 by ethernet lead but cannot find a way to change from one to the other.

Hi Phian
The X12 should automatically connect to your network via the wired network connection when the ethernet cable is inserted. It might be worth unplugging the WiFi dongle when you do this. Also it may take a moment or two to establish the connection. Two ways to establish if it's connected are to check the network info under SETUP->NETWORK and to try and accessing the i-Services by pressing the button on the remote.
If you are finding that it still isn't connecting to the network through your powerline adaptors, there are a couple of things to check: 1) Are the lights on the ethernet port on the back of the X12 coming on when you insert the cable? 2) Can you plug in a laptop or other device to check that the powerline to that socket is working? 3) Failing that it might be worth trying a factory reset (this doesn't affect your data on the Hard-drive which includes your music)
Let us know how you get on.
Thanks Jules

Thanks Jules, it was very kind of you to respond. I will try your suggestions and get back to you. I found the light did not glow on the Powerline extender which it should when the Ethernet lead was connected so rang TP Link. They suggested the problem might lie in the X12 so I tried using the extender on our Sky+ box and it works a treat. I have ordered another so will try it on the X12 before putting it to its intended use then, if successful, will order yet another. I suspect interference on the Wi-Fi because when I scan for networks far more appear in the list than there were a while ago but changing channels did not do the trick. Now the extender is connected to the Sky+ we can use the catch-up facility reliably so it would be more than my life is worth to deprive Mr P of it :-) The new extender should be here in a few days so I can have another go. I hadn't thought to look at the light on the back of the X12, to be honest, I hadn't even noticed there was one.

Hello Jules,
I connected the X12 with an Ethernet lead and all seems OK, the screen shows it as "Wired" ( entries on display just as the book says) and the lights show on the port (green steady, yellow blinking) but the iService icon has greyed out and cannot be selected. I have read the manual but can find nothing to show what I am doing wrong. I would be grateful for suggestions. I have now tried connecting the X12 by Ethernet directly into the router but whether I use Auto IP or Static IP the screens appear to be as shown in the instruction book but the iService remains greyed out even though the "wired network enabled" message comes up. As soon as I plug the Dongle back in, I get the wireless OK and the message to tell me the wired is disconnected and can access the iService again. Perhaps I will just have to accept the fact that I cannot use the wired network, I must be doing something wrong but just can't see what.
