I have an X10 running 1805 firmware. The X10 has not been used for some time and was powered down for that period. When I tried to rip two new CDs none of the album information was showing, the error message "FreeDB Connect Fail" appeared and I was invited to enter it manually. I have downloaded the latest FreeDB update and extracted the .db file to a memory stick but when I try to select that file on the X10 the cursor jumps straight back to "dir up". Why can't I update the FreeDB? Is it possible that the X10's firmware is corrupted and I need to reinstall or is there some other cause?

I have the same problem with x10. I haven't bought CDs for a few years but now i have been given and loaned many. The FreeDB service does not provide metadata. I tried installing the latest FreeDB download but that didn't install after several attempts and waiting for 2 hours. Also get 'cursor jumps straight back to "dir up".' This seems like a very poor support for something which costs a lot of money!
