After several years of troublefree operation my X10 has suddenly failed to connect to my home network despite all my attempts. I suspect the USB wireless dongle has failed and, if so, how do I obtain a replacement. Is there anything else I should try to re-establish network connection before replacing the wireless adaptor?

If you can see your router ssid when in setup> scan ap list it is not the dongle. Reset the router
If you cannot see your router do a factory reset on your x10 or even reload the firmware
With all the increase in wifi traffic interference can occur which may need a channel change on your router. if all else fails try a cable connection
The dongle is available online from SVC distribution

Hi. I have the same problem of not connecting to the network. I have done everything you suggest - both wireless (it recognises router), and wired, done factory reset, reset router and reloaded firmware, but still get error message “network set fail !!!” every time. Any other suggestions appreciated!

My old X10 had the same "network set fail" issues, until I gave it a fixed IP address. I think that it had trouble with DHCP for some reason. Networking issues can be tricky to diagnose. Try, Disconnecting / turning off all wired / wireless devices from your router and reboot. reconnect the device, whilst everything else is still disconnected. If you are still having trouble connecting, then see if the issue is with the device itself or on your network. Try the device on another network, a friend's or family member etc.

I don't know how to do what you suggested I had no problems with the internet radio that we have just moved and I can't get it to do anything I'm not very techno-minded so didn't understand how what instructions you gave to the previous person.

Having just moved house yesterday, I have tried to connect my trusty X10 to my new router, but it is refusing to connect (despite re-writing the wifi password several times) I have tried both USB slots (just in case) but no dice Is there a work around or do I need to go back to factory settings - and will this affect my database of 1,000+ albums ? As a total silver-surfing novice, I would appreciate any help you can give me as I miss the 'look' and easy deleting/adding of details that wired connectivity doesn't offer me. ATB

I too have the same problem, my X10 purchased in 2011 always worked ok untill this unable to connect to network problem. Perhaps a problem inflicted to get us to buy a new device.
