I noticed the other day that there was new firmware available when I checked via my X12. It wouldn't download so I thought I would download it from the website. But... it looks like the novafidelity page has disappeared (www.novafidelity.co.uk). I tried interrogating the Cocktail Audio website (www.cocktailaudio.co.uk) but the X12 isn't even on there. I called the number in the contact us details, and they told me that they didn't support the X12 as it was purely a Novafidelity piece of kit and they were using the Cocktail Audio details illegally.
Not sure where that leaves me and anyone else who has an X12 but it seems like we have been left I the lurch and it is no longer supported by anyone. Lets hope there are no problems with it in the future.
As anyone else found this out, or can anyone else advise if there is something that can still be done or someone can be contacted?
Many thanks,
Billericay

The firmware is still available from the support section at www.cocktailaudio.com I assume this is the same for all language versions.
The X12 had been moved to a 'legacy' box meaning no further updates but I find it hard to believe what you were told about it, or at least what the person seemed to be implying.
Cocktail Audio and Novafidelity are the same company as can be seen when visiting the .com website and in the list of products is a Cocktail Audio branded version of the X12 so cannot be described as 'purely a Novafidelity piece of kit' surely?
Perhaps there has been a dispute as to who is the official supplier and this has now been resolved with the loss of the Novafidelity site? It all seems a bit strange as in the HiFi Choice X12 Review
it stated that the X12 is the first model from the rebranded Kent company.
The Novafidelity phone number is/was 01892 320479 and email: officenovafidelity@gmail.com
At the end of the day I guess we lose out

Hi Billericay and John H,
Following your comments on the forum, I found the following information which you and other members may find useful.
The Novafidelity range of products is designed and manufactured by Novatron in Korea and the range of products including the X12 are shown on http://www.audiococktail.com. Under the where to buy heading, the main UK distibutor has recently changed to SVC Ltd (website http://www.svcdistribution.co.uk). Here is an extract from their website:- Today SCV are very pleased to announce an exclusive distribution agreement with Novafidelity in the UK and Ireland. The new partnership comes at an opportune time as the streaming product manufacturer launches a swathe of exciting new and updated models.
Established in 2003 as part of Korean manufacturer Novotron Co Limited’s portfolio of brands, Novafidelity's focus is on creating high quality multimedia players that provide an innovative user experience along with world-class musical delivery.
Versatile abilities can be found across Novafidelity’s expansive range including CD-ripping, major streaming service support (including Tidal and Qobuz, etc), wide format support for file types including Native DSD and MQA, phono inputs for vinyl playback, recording functionalities for up to 24bit/192khz from analogue or digital sources, and built-in storage capacities totalling up to 8GB.
Every model utilises Novafidelity’s MusicX control app for iOS/Android devices as well as 'MusicDB' their bespoke system for intelligent library management. Sources can also be managed via WebInterace (WebUI) or via the built-in Roon-Ready core system.
This means that the existing X12 is a legacy product having been replaced by the X14. There is a comparison pdf file on the cocktailaudio website which is useful.
I have spoken to SVC today who informed me that firmware updates will be the responsibility of the manufacturer (Novatron) although they can offer advice and are able to repair existing units. They have taken over the distibutorship due to previous companies poor performance in terms of support.
I suggest you visit the cocktailaudio website for details on existing products together with downloads you may require.
I hope you all find this information useful.
