My Wifi dongle or my wifi connection has stopped working on my x12. I have recently changed my Wifi WAP but the x12 has been working since and as I use my iPad to select music using the interface on the ipad to connect wirelessly to my x12 90% of the time. It is not a signal strength issue as both devices are in the same room. My wifi dongle is recognised by the x12 and I have tried the front usb. I have disconnected my wifi connection on my ipad and re-connected using the same username and password that is and has been re-inputted to my x12 - still net fail error on the x12. I have re-started the x12 a few times still same. The blue light is on on the wifi dongle. I am running firmware xxxx80 on the x12 and auto update is selected, the software interface on the ipad I will not update as I am 100% happy with it. Anway of testing the Wifi dongle?

Updated the firmware to r108 via usb. Still no wifi and I get 'net error'. I have 100% signal strength and pathway and 0% noise when looking at wifi details. I have just checked the usb dongle with win10 via a usb port and going into network adapters, properties etc and the wifi dongle comes up as device Edimax 300Mbps usb wifi dongle and is working normally - well so Win 10 says. UPDATE: Tried a factory reset then had to put password in again for wifi, after a while "Net fail" error. I have re-checked the password many times and I am sure to put in a zero rather than an O etc as something really simple as one character wrong and it will not work. The option somewhere else from wired to wireless is selected to wireless as well. UPDATE2: made sure I do not have a conflict with another device sharing the same ip address, sometimes I now get no "Net Fail" error and it can fetch album art off the internet however the ipad will not connect to the same ip address that the x12 says it has. Checked with connected devices within my Hub admin and that matched with what is on the x12 - proved this by disconnecting dingle -refresh, it disappears the re-connect and it reappears. So it would seem it is indeed connected to my WAP and Wifi BUT my ipad with the interface cannot connect to it. Why I was getting "Net fail" error I don't know. UPDATE3: I no longer get "net fail error" and I can receive weird radio stations through the internet and I have used an app on my Ipad to see my connected iP addresses and the x12 is there on .19 I tried another device ie chromebook to connect to the x12 error 102 connection refused. I notice that when I use my ipad and try a made up IP address being the last two digits it searches then fails, but when trying .19 it fails straight away. Cleared search history still same. Loaded another browser onto Ipad still same connection refused. SO I gave the x12 a static IP address ending in .40 {to keep it away from the busy 20s on my system and with friends and family visiting etc} and copied the other settings from Network infi, ie; subnet, gateway, DNS server etc.. . Confirmed this with the app that x12 now has .40 as an IP address. Ipad still fails to connect to x12 and goes straight to a virgin media search page? I THOUGHT that would have sorted it!! And I am inputting where I used to at the top of the browser page....I have rebooted my HUB {as one of these handles the DHCP} and WAP still same. I am obviously using the same range concerning the IP addresses that my system is set to ie 192.168.0. etc... It can't be security software as only my WAP and HUB and 8 port switch are on, the PC is off. How do I re-install the internet based browser that I use on my Ipad? I think this is on the x12? I see no app on the Ipad. I have a flat Ethernet cable long enough to plug into my x12 on it's way so I will try that... I tried that still no access to web interface but it is connected to the internet! SORTED: I knew this would be something easy. Whilst searching for the way of updated or re-installing the Web interface there is an option for ON/OFF - it was set to Off - DOH. as simple as that, did a re-install of web server anyway and all is good now. Why it went to Off and why I had Net Fail I don't know or care.
