Hi everyone,
I downloaded the latest firmware over the internet last Monday when it was made available. It has altered how I can access the Music Db, as an unnecessary extra screen now appears with "History >", "File Operations >" and "Views >" now offered as options, and I cannot scroll between "Artist", "Album", "Genre" as effectively.
Additionally, the "Operations >" option has removed some of the functions I could previously perform on a music file, such as re- formatting it e.g. from FLAC to MP3.
Any ideas how I could restore the previous functions, and remove this unnecessary interface?
Ideally, I would just remove the new firmware, and revert to the previous edition, which was absolutely fine for all I wanted from my Silver Treasure.
Thanks very much.
A.

I've had a problem too with this new version of firmware in that it now does not allow me access to the web user interface. Is there a fix for this? Are the folks from Nova Fidelity reading these forums? Makes me wonder.

I've had a problem too with this new version of firmware in that it now does not allow me access to the web user interface. Is there a fix for this? Are the folks from Nova Fidelity reading these forums? Makes me wonder. Dan, I asked the previous people with whom I had dealt about this, and they referred me to the people at Nova Fidelity, who are now i/c the range from X10 to X30. Tony Sallis kindly called me and gave me very clear instructions about how to download the 4th November 2016 vintage Firmware - the one preceding the more recent download, I guess. It's tag should end in " .................R122". Once you have that on a memory stick, go into Firmware, change it to "Manual Installation", then out to Browser, select the USB / Memory Sticks, select the Firmware Package there, and install this. It appears to have sorted my problems out. Whether this extends to your particular issue, i don't know, but my X30 is restored to its previous status. How we access further Firmware updates, I will leave to be clarified in due course. I - for one - will be very wary of them. I hope this helps in some way. Best wishes, A.

If you're on R122, stay there! The changed functionality is awkward and introduces performance issues. I have gone back to R122.

Well, the wretched saga continues,
Previous functions restored, but problems continue.
Db recognition of alphabetical order of Artists is now completely confused and illogical, and Db returns to "Artist / Track" regardless of my setting it to "Artist / Album". I have a few "A" 's ......AC/DC, Allman Brothers........., then Suede, neil Young and Frank Zappa before Beatles, Beach Boys etc before some other random selections ...........
Starting to feel that f#cking latest Firmware has completely screwed an otherwise previously perfect system.
Avoid the latest Firmware for the X30 like the plague, I suggest.

Hi Dan, I run into problems with an ssd inside (Linux format, also NTFS tried). With the R0129 firmware my X30 becomes slow, locks up with black screen, and ends up with 'query error', the ssd is frozen. No power up can recover that. I have to takeout the ssd and only a Samsung ssd recovery program on a pc can wake up the ssd again. What is going wrong? I just swapped it with my common HD, and all works flawlessly again. Please help!

Is anyone getting an invalid database message on shutdown even though all looks good and it's running fine? I ran the entire recovery process but I still get that message. Before resorting to using my backup (and having to make all changes since the last backup), I would like to make sure it isn't related to the latest firmware update.

Oh Boy! i should have read this before i updated. Still, I'm happy with some of the changes but the release notes don't do them justice. - the Multi Cut works pretty well - even on some albums i have that are 50+ years old with all the inherent scratches! Sadly, taking the cuts, TAG EDITing them, and importing to DB is a mystery - The old capability of TAG EDITing an entire album side to include album art, is gone. More unceccasr work - and, yeah, I'm getting the freeze out occasionally wherein LOADING... Hard reboot.
Still, love the server and glad i've got it!

Hi Just purchased a secondhand X30 which has firmware version R0032 on it. I get an invalid package error whenever i try and update the firmware. From a German forum, it looks like there were some naming convention changes in R0042. Has anyone got a copy of R0042, or has a link to where i can download it please ?
Thanks … Mark
