Hi,
As I rip all my CDs into this device it occurs to me I might want to access the data from my PC, has anyone tried:
1. Remove the hard drive and mount it in my windows PC - I have an external USB hard drive reader. 2. Write a batch file to use ffmepg or similar to copy+transcode all the WAV files (that don't already exist) to my PC. 3. Replace X12 hard drive "untouched"
OR
1. Write a batch file to use ffmepg or similar to copy+transcode all the WAV files (that don't already exist) over the network to my PC.
Just thought I would ask before setting out to try!
Kind Regards

Hi, Don't think it is necessary to remove the hard drive as if you switch on the Samba Server under Setup/Network Service on you X12 you should be able to 'see' it from your PC and if necessary Map a drive to it. If can then copy/translate your library to a folder under hdd1: before importing the lot into the X12 Music DB. Alternatively translate your library to a directory on your PC and import it directly from the X12 my mounting your PC drive on it. If you rip to your PC first you can use a tool to edit the Tags to suit your needs before transferring them to the X12. Regards Andym
