Hi, I have only just bought an x12. I have installed a 1tb ssd hard drive. I set it up with no problems at at all. I have the x12 connected to a Creek Passive pre-amp and then that is connected to a Net-Audio Quad 303 power amp. The problem that I have is that there is a lot of noise coming from the x12 for example the scrolling of the text makes a loud clicking noise as each letter passes. The clock function is great but as the seconds go by there is an load click with every second. All connection are from the analogue out connections on the rear of the x12. I have tried using a pair of headphones in the front headphone socket and there is no noise or clicking then. If anyone has any ideas how to get rid of this annoying background noise I would love to hear from you.

I have the same problem. If I connect the analogue out to my Pioneer amplifier I get similar loud clicks including the sound of the X12 clock and a loud click between tracks when playing. Playing the X12 through speakers attached directly to the X12 is fine.

Hi, I have sorted the problem. The fault lies in my Quad Amplifier it does not have the right screening it being 50+ years old. I bought a "Digital to Analogue" converter from Amazon made by Lindy, cost about £30.00. I then connected to the Digital output of the X12 into the Lindy and then out of the Lindy with phono leads into my amp. Result was perfect sound. I hope this helps you sort your issues with your Pioneer amp.

Thanks. My Pioneer is 25 years old so may have same screening issue!

I can't see it being a screening issue guys. The age of the amp is immaterial. My Sansui C55/B55 (with AC/DC Linear O/P) setup, being well over 30 yoa, is designed and built to handle very low level RIAA signals and does so with no probs. The output of the X12 is 1v according to the spec - no screening issues methinks. Maybe bleedthrough though?
