I have owned the X30 for just over 2 years now and in general am very happy with what it provides. I should mention that I use it merely as a CD storage unit. With well over 2,000 CDs, (now all converted to FLAC format) it became, (for my needs anyway) the only sensible way of storing and playing music. Together with the Web Interface, I can quickly and easily make any changes to the metadata stored on the internal 4TB hard disk. Very often, I have found there to be errors relating to either song titles, composers, Album names when recalling the data from the internet. Sometimes I just want to merge 2 related albums together or even separate one long album that perhaps came with bonus tracks when it was reissued and I want to keep these bonus tracks apart.
The question I have and I wonder if other users have found similar issues, is that the change in this data is, on occasions, 'ignored'. In other words, after making the changes and then saving the newly amended metadata, I have found that the relevant track becomes "inaccessible". It's still there in the Music db, but it is 'lost' and certainly can't be played or amended. This is not a huge issue as a simple running of the 'recovery' command in the Settings menu, restores the track back into existence via a so-called recovery folder to be found in the Browser menu under HDD. Have others had similar issues like this and can it be sorted without running recovery? What is the explanation for this kind of behaviour of a digital file. Should this really be happening? Can anybody relate to this matter, and explain the reasoning for this failure? I'd be interested to hear other peoples stories.

I have had similar issues. When I notice it has happened, I know it's time to do a Recovery.
As you say, once you know what to do, it's not a big drama... but it is an inconvenience and could cause some anxiety to a user who didn't understand what was happening.
