Having just purchased my first album from Qobus, I downloaded it in FLAC format to my desktop MAC. The TAR file containing all the tracks is now sitting in my download folder. Can I copy the whole TAR file to a USB memory stick, then load it to the X12 via its USB slot. Will the X12 firmware/software accept and handle the TAR file. Is this file compressed and need to be expanded? How would I do this? If any body can give me some guidance on how to proceed I would be most grateful. I didn't realise it would be so complicated (or I knew so little about it). Thanks, Barry

Tar files are the equivalent of zip files in windows and need to be opened or decompressed prior to loading on the x12. as the x12 does not have the code to open this file format even though it runs a Linux kernel.
After extracting the files they should contain all the metadata the x12 uses but may lack the artwork and be in the form you purchased (FLAC MP3 or whatever). Load this file in whatever way you normally use.
