My Database took about two weeks to build from CD ripping to my X12 in FLAC.
I see that this machine has now superseded by the x14, Is it possible to use the X12 Database and transfer it to the X14 (I have restore HDD's), in the event of an X12 failure.

If you have updated the X12 to the latest firmware R0135 (which implements the new restructured database) and made a new DB backup on your external HDD. Then there shouldn't be any problems.
If you do encounter any issues, you could connect the X12 backup to the X14 and import the music files instead. As you have ripped in FLAC the id3 tags (metadata) are embedded in the music files and will be used to create the database again. This works just the same as importing FLAC files that were ripped or downloaded on another device.
I would recommend importing a couple of albums at first, just to check and then importing the rest in small batches.
