My X 12 has just updated to the new firmware. Sadly since doing so I
am no longer able to rip CD's to the device, I keep getting unable to read
sector warnings before it abandons the rip. Anyone have any ideas or is
it just best to roll back to the previous firmware?
Thanks
Alan B.

Yes, I'm having exactly the same problem. Everything else seems to be working fine. But ripping brings up a slightly new interface, and the process lasts only a few seconds before showing the series of sector warnings which precede the failure of the rip. I'm going to wait a couple of days to see if there is a correction of some kind, then manually download an older version of the software. Before this update I was having no problems at all.

The box is now useless. Who can I complain to? Thanks.

I have updated my X12 to the latest Ro33 firmware and my unit is working fine including cd ripping. The unit powers up and off perfectly. The only thing I have noticed is that the free internet radio service has disappeared. Airable free internet radio service is provided and works fine. This is explained under the firmware update notes on the Cocktail Audio / Novafidelity website.
If you are having problems with the new firmware it is worth installing again but note each stage of the update process shows a pass. I believe there is a you tube video showing the force install process, or rollback to the previous version and reinstall. The update notes do point out that you may encounter problems with the music database as there have been a number of changes in the new firmware release.
If you are still having problems, I would suggest contacting SVC the UK distributors of Novatron devices.
Best of luck.

Apologies to all. The new uk distributor is SCV and the free internet radio service which has been removed in the new firmware release is called Reciva.
Another tip I was told by the Novafidelity support team was in connection with updating the new free music database. I was advised, never update over the internet as the file is too large, always update via a usb stick.
Kind regards

Hi,
The only free internet radio service available on the X12 with the new firmware is AIRABLE. This works fine and in my opinion is superior in quality and stability. The issue with Reciva was the lack of development and updates.
I hope you find this information useful.
Kind regards

I got in touch with ihkim@novatron.co.kr who have come up with a new firmware drop R0135.
This has cured my ripping problem.
Hope this helps...
