How long does the X12 take to 'convert' previously ripped cd's into the flac format? I have left the unit on for several hours but it is still got a lot to convert.

Hi hks. I have the X10 and when first ripping my collection en-masse, it got to the point where the number of unconverted tracks came close to 400. I left the X10 overnight and it still hadn't caught up in the morning . In the end, I just kept ripping, knowing it was a one-off exercise and I was confident enough to believe the X10 conversions would eventually catch up (they did).

Hi hks
As musicbod said just leave the unit on when you're not using it and it will work its way through them over time. To check progress, press the 'i' button on the remote when the Music DB icon is higlighted on the home screen. If you do this about an hour apart you should get a feel for how quickly its working through them.
Thanks Jules

I've been getting this since installing the latest firmware update on my X12. Always 2 tracks unconverted on shutdown, and I've left the unit on for 24 hours + to see if it clears and it doesn't. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. Any thoughts? Thanks Mike

I have 13 tracks showing as unconverted for over a month now, not a biggy but annoying as Mike says. Can anyone tell me how to find out what the 13 unconverted tracks are - then maybe I could delete the album and rip it again?

It may or may not work but I've noticed that running recovery *sometimes* unblocks frozen processes. Just a suggestion - I'm not a techie.
